Aziza Amarshi

Pharmacists

Aziza co-owns Pure Pharmacy with her husband Haider. She is a Registered Pharmacist, Holistic Nutritionist and a Wellness Coach. She is the face behind the Wellness side of Pure.

Aziza completed her undergraduate studies at University of Toronto in genetics and molecular biology, then went on to pursue a pharmacy degree from the Leslie Dan school of Pharmacy at the University of Toronto.

She graduated in 1998 and has been practicing as a pharmacist ever since. It was her dissatisfaction with the fragmented way the medical system treats the body that lead her to pursue a certificate in Holistic Nutrition from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition. Her dream was to always create an integrative pharmacy where both conventional and alternative methods of healing are available to the client. It wasn’t until she experienced her own healing journey from an autoimmune condition called Rheumatoid Arthritis, that she was convinced that there was a better way to heal. She was the driving force behind the re-branding of King City Guardian to Pure Pharmacy and Wellness center.

Aziza was recognized by the township of King in 2019 at the Volunteer Appreciation Night for her “time and dedication to the community, for providing a series of free monthly wellness talks and complimentary nutrition and wellness seminars” at both King City Library and at King City Senior Centre.

Aziza has a very broad perspective on health as she has worked as a community pharmacist as well as a clinical pharmacist at South lake Regional Health Center in Newmarket. She recently left her job at the hospital to dedicate her time and efforts to building the Pure Wellness Center.

Aziza’s unique position as a pharmacist and nutritionist has given her great insight into the relationship between food and illnesses. However, it wasn’t until her own experience as a patient in the health care system, did she realize how important it was for health care professionals to bring focus to lifestyle modifications as a means of healing from disease. Her healing journey from RA has been an integrative one, where she sought the support of medical doctors, a naturopathic doctor, an acupuncturist, a life coach, meditation teachers, and a functional medicine doctor. She credits her healing to this holistic approach and is very passionate about bringing a wholesome, integrative approach to healing at Pure.

She is active on social media and is the writer of the website blog, as well as the weekly wellness emails.

Aziza is passionate about the health of her clients and is committed to guiding them towards optimum health through nutrition, lifestyle changes and responsible use of supplements and medications.
